Tinta Caiada Espumante Rosé.
Heritage at Its Finest.

Tinta Caiada is one of Alentejo’s rare historic grape varieties. At Herdade da Cardeira, it continues to reveal the distinctive character and unique potential that make it so special. For this exceptional Espumante – the first ever crafted from Tinta Caiada – the grapes are harvested early to preserve their vibrant freshness and expressive fruit character. Thirty-six months of lees ageing bring exceptional finesse, a delicate mousse and elegant aromatic complexity. The result is an Espumante Rosé of remarkable elegance and freshness, with a long, refined and harmonious finish.

    Fruity with Potential.

The special conditions of Herdade da Cardeira seem to suit just fine for the Tinta Caiada grapes, usually considered to be less classy than others. They have developed such a complex aroma that initially, specialists happen to misidentify them as Alfrocheiro grapes. These long hugely underestimated grapes provide us with a dark red colour for full-bodied wines and a bouquet of ripe fruits, herbs and spices.
