Cardeira Tinta Caiada.
A piece of Alentejo’s history.

The Tinta Caiada variety is an old Alentejo grape and rarely found these days, but in Cardeira, it plays an integral part in shaping the identity of our wines. In this varietal version, it reveals its full exotic character, complexity, and elegance, with aromas of red berries and spices, silky tannins, and a fresh and exceptionally long finish.

    Fruity with Potential.

The special conditions of Herdade da Cardeira seem to suit just fine for the Tinta Caiada grapes, usually considered to be less classy than others. They have developed such a complex aroma that initially, specialists happen to misidentify them as Alfrocheiro grapes. These long hugely underestimated grapes provide us with a dark red colour for full-bodied wines and a bouquet of ripe fruits, herbs and spices.
